Held every Wednesday and Saturday
on Truro's Lemon Quay and
every Tuesday on the Moor in Falmouth
We are pleased to announce a series of special festive markets to encourage shoppers to rediscover the joys of buying locally this Christmas.
The market will be in session during late night shopping in Truro every Wednesday from 25th November, and further dates have also been secured to allow the artisan producers to showcase their talents (see below for dates or visit www.trurofarmers.co.uk for details).
Chairman Nigel Ekins said: “There is always a magical atmosphere for the Christmas markets here on Lemon Quay. Visitors can meet the producers and sample their wares whilst enjoying the city’s Christmas lights and some festive entertainment. It’s a proper family Christmas shopping experience – you don’t get quite the same feeling from browsing the internet at home!”
It’s the perfect place to pick up unique gifts in the run up to Christmas – as well as stock your fridge and cupboards with seasonal fruit and vegetables, locally-reared meats, artisan cheeses and Cornish seafood as the festive holiday approaches.
Our regular food producers include some of the most celebrated names on the Cornish food and drink scene, including The Cornish Duck Company, Primrose Herd, Cornish Mill & Bakehouse, Kernow Sashimi, Meadowside Nursery and The Cornish Smokehouse.
Other regular traders include Heather Bell Honey, Truro Organic Producers, The Cornish Olive Stall, Nancarrow Farm and Kelnan Plants; an array of traders also sell preserves, sea salt, chocolate, tea and coffee – guaranteeing that the market is always full of colourful displays and eclectic flavours.
The market’s street food producers will be out in force during the run up to Christmas, ensuring shoppers can refuel with the likes of Kernow Churros, Ruby June’s Indian Kitchen, @Home World Street Food and Cornish Venison Co.
Also well-represented at market are the growing number of brewers, wine-makers and distillers making a name for themselves in Cornwall; visit Padstow Brewing Company, Black Flag Brewery, Bosue Vineyard, Elemental Cornish Gin and Spirits of Cornwall for extra yuletide merriment.
Arts and crafts include Rustic Roundwood Furniture with hand-crafted wooden home and garden accessories, Kernow Signs slate and wood signs, various textiles, “shabby chic” home wares, garden tools and jewelry.
Stallholders will be on Lemon Quay on the following dates (the traders may be dispersed due to other events – look for the green and white stripes).
