The Cornish Duck Company is one of Cornwall’s best-loved food brands. Initially established by Roger and Tanya Olver, who began converting the family farm to a luxury estate for free-range ducks in 2006, Cornwall Duck has won multiple national food awards.
In May 2020 new owners Kristian and Kelley Gourlay took over the business, keeping the same breed and rigorous high standards but transferring the operation to Tremanor Farm in Fowey.
Reared in a natural, stress-free environment, the ‘Terras’ duck is bred for great flavour and resistance to disease, with strong legs to aid their development without compromising quality of life.
The natural diet enjoyed by the birds supports slow growth and ensures the optimum meat to fat ratio, while luxuries such as low-stock density, straw-bedded barns, paddling pools and plenty of outdoor space encourage vitality and reduce stress.
You will find Cornish Duck at market most Saturdays, with products including whole duck, duck burgers, duck breast and duck eggs.
