We had a fantastic day at Truro Farmers Market on Saturday celebrating our St Piran’s Day Market, with a brilliant atmosphere across Lemon Quay and lots of traders and visitors getting involved.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success — from our traders and visitors to all those who supported the special activities and entertainment throughout the market.

We were delighted to welcome a judging panel for our annual Pasty Competition, so a big thank you to Steve Whittingham (Fodders), Adrian Oliver (Cornish Field Kitchen), and Lionel Knight (Truro Town Crier) for giving up their time to judge the entries.

We’d also like to thank our fantastic musicians Steve and Arthur Panter and Sam Lisle who provided live music across the day, helping create a lively and welcoming atmosphere around the market.

A special thanks also goes to Nathan Buscombe and the team who brought along the wonderful vintage tractors, which were a real highlight and added a great Cornish feel to the celebrations.

Pasty Competition Winners

This year’s pasty competition featured two categories: Traditional Cornish Pasty and Rest of the World.

Best Traditional Cornish Pasty
Abigail Symons – Bradley

Best Rest of the World Pasty
Kernow – Kernow Kitchen (Truro Pannier Market)

Congratulations to both of our winners who take home the trophies and the title of Truro Farmers Market Pasty Champions for 2026.

Trader Pasty Competition

Some of our traders also enjoy getting involved in the fun, so we run a small in-house trader competition alongside the main event.

Although our traders didn’t take the overall trophies this year, we’re pleased to announce that the highest scoring trader pasty was made by:

Graham Bradshaw – Ol’ Salty (Cornish Sea Salt)

Well done Graham!

Best Dressed Stall

We also ran a Best Dressed Stall competition for traders who brought a bit of extra Cornish flair to the market.

Winner: Corey Jordan – Cornishware

Corey’s stall looked absolutely fantastic and couldn’t have been more Cornish — a brilliant effort.

Thank You

Events like this really show what makes Truro Farmers Market special. We love putting on themed markets and community celebrations throughout the year, and it’s always great to see traders, visitors and the wider community getting involved.

Thank you again to everyone who joined us — we’ll be sharing more photos from the day across our social media soon.

And keep an eye out… there are more special markets and events planned for later this year.
