Held every Wednesday and Saturday
on Truro's Lemon Quay
9am - 4pm
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our big anniversary day last Saturday on Lemon Quay. We were visited by our MP Sarah Newton, Mayor Bob Smith, many councillors and visitors and locals from everywhere. Some of our local visitors are still coming from when the market started 20 years ago. The sun shone down for us and the cutting off our 20th anniversary cake was accompanied with a Happy Birthday from the City of Truro Brass Band. Our Town Crier made sure that everyone knew we were open! Bert Biscoe performed a superb poem about the market which was very well received and then assisted us all day hosing a selection of musicians for all different tastes.
We were kindly loaned a marquee for the day from Truro City Council which enabled us to make a nice Food to go area for our regular stallholders and Truro Bid manager Alan Jones arranged for a wide selection of Truro based charity stalls to attend. Some of our market farmers brought in tractors for everyone to enjoy and Threemilestone Young Farmers made sure the children were amused. Live ducks and chickens were also put in pens for the day for everyone to enjoy.
It was a day for Truro to remember.
A special thank you to wedding photographer cornwall for capturing all the wonderful photos from the day.
